RAC Key Cover - Bargain!
For £19.99 you get £1500 cover gainst lost/stolen keys:
http://m.rac.co.uk/optional-extras#key-replace
Seems very good value considering Merc keys are £255 and even a Ford key can be well over £100 if you go through the dealer.
Looks also like the RAC have left themselves wide open to abuse because anyone who fancies a replacement key can just say 'oh dear I've lost my key', or have I missed something?

I suppose you have to add to that £20 the cost of using the RAC over the cost of similar cover from other providers.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Yes you would but using Tesco Vouchers makes it very reasonable.0

2.
new locks of the same standard if we assess, acting reasonably, there is a security risk;
3.
up to 3 keys per lock of the same standard - depending on how many are lost, stolen or broken;
4.
reprogramming of the electronics so your locks, alarm and immobiliser still work;
5.

Looks like they have got that covered judging by your last post. "we will arrange and pay for".
That suggests they don't just hand over any money but arrange for the replacement themselves.0 -

innane comments? It was a QUESTION (DUH!!!) hence the ???
The link the OP put didnt mention anything about the replacement locks etc. hence my QUESTION...Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Well it would be pretty pointless providing a key that didn't fit the locks or matched the immobiliser.0

So what are you saying?
I was suggesting that some scammer could get him/herself a spare key on the cheap by just claiming to have lost the original; not make money out of it, just get a spare key for a fraction of the cost they'd pay if they had to buy it themselves.0
