Has anybody got any experience with Yorkshire Bank?

I've found Clydesdale to be perfectly responsive on the phone in the last few months. Don't really use the internet banking although I'd still put it above First Direct or HSBC.
You can't go paperless with credit cards from them but you can for current accounts. They have a fully paperless account through their 'B' offshoot which has a colourful and perfectly functional mobile and tablet app.0 -
I got the impression that Yorkshire Bank was basically run to be Clydesdale's English brand and other than the name everything is identical. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Online banking isn't the best experience. Hate the secure key set up, as I do with M&S, HSBC, et al. Don't use Apps for any of my banking tasks so can't comment there.
It's been reliable for a good while, with no issues found. Then again, it only sees £1K in and just over £1K out each month these days.
I can't understand anyone wanting it for a second account though, being as the OP's reason seems to be for keeping emergency funds...especially since it pays no interest. Then again, the OP is fast running out of options going by posting history!
Can I ask which bank is your main bank?
And it wouldn't just be for emergency funds as such. I normally use my First Direct account for savings accounts as well as savings, then I use the other account for my outgoings such as direct debits and general spending if I don't use my credit card0 -

HSBC was my first bank and they were shocking. FD is a division of them but they're completely different!
Paperless I'm not too bothered about, I'm not really too keen on online statements anyway. I mean I do use internet banking all of the time but I do like a paper statement to come through as well. Although I do have a Barclaycard credit card that I intend to keep if I switch. Despite the call centres again, I earn decent rewards on it. And I have one with First Direct too. So it's just a bank account I'm looking for at the moment0 -

In my experience, they are great. I've got an appointment to open a current account next Friday, but I've had their Gold MasterCard for a few months, and the service (on the odd occasion I've needed anything) has been spot on.0

I remember having an appointment with HSBC, though since then I have done it mostly online. Though my Lloyds Bank online application kept going funny and I had no choice but to have to book an appointment..
Although I guess there's more of a personal touch there :beer:0
