  • Haven't read all the replies so might have missed something but I use the Deezer app on my phone and bluetooth it at home on the stereo and in the car. Or use the wire to connect it up in the car if I'm using satnav too because the satnav over rides the music. :)

My other half has deezer too he pays £10 a month but I don't bother and I've never had a problem with it yet.

I think this thread brings home the limitations faced by the modern generation of tech when it comes to music.

I got into music as a teenager in the 70s and have seen the technology evolve. LPs, cassettes, CDs, Mini Disc, MP3 and the variants and now streaming.

With all the old tech you needed equipment to play and record/copy music. At work we had a record club where we all made a small weekly payment and every week we took it in turns to buy an album which was then passed round the other members and copied if you liked it.

If you have a desktop or laptop and an MP3/iPod/music player you can still control your own music wherever you go. If all you have is a tablet or phone then your options can be limited.

I can't imagine any situation where I would pay monthly to listen to music when there's so much out there that is free to listen to, all it takes is a little time, effort and know how which to me is all part of the fun.

I used to spend many hours of my working life in cars or on planes and trains and music and audio books kept me sane. All I had to do was find the means to make my music portable and for me that was a PC and an iPod and a small portable radio, in my case a small Sony World SW/AM/FM radio
One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.

You can convert any YouTube audio as MP3 using many freeware. Then just put them inside USB stick, phone etc.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.
