Car Hire From Toronto to Orlando

Hi All
I'm struggling to find a car hire company that will hire a car collecting at Toronto (Airport) and returning in Orlando.
My plan is to drive down, and stop at various locations along the way.
I'm mailing the companies separately, but has anyone got any experience of this? Could it involve returning a car at the border and collecting a new car in the US?

Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

Assuming you can find a car rental company that allows dropping off in another country, the one-way charges are likely to be exhorbitant.
Have a look into a one way flight from Orlando to Toronto.
I've just had a quick look on kayak.com and Air Canada, United and Delta have all shown prices of just over £100 for a midweek date in March.0 -
Thank You
Yes, it was in August, when I checked internals, they were crazy prices, and I'd really like to stop at a few places on the way, especially Charleston.
Its quite possible it just isn't financially viable by the looks of things
Just checked, and they are similar prices in August too, thats great thanks. I'll just have to hire a car in Orlando and drive back upRemember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
Maybe fly to Buffalo (New York State) and rent the car from there instead of from Toronto, so the pick up and drop off locations are both in the USA. You can drive from Buffalo to Toronto if you wish (about 100 miles each way - map https://goo.gl/maps/Wx6tuTkNYiT2 ) before starting the southward trek. But you'll almost certainly still have a hefty one-way charge."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0

I'll check that out also.
Its odd, I just assumed you could hire cars anywhere and drop them anywhere (ultimately they would make their way back due to the migratory nature of people in North America)
A couple of times I've rented cars there (in FL) they had New York and Illinois Plates.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

Hi
May well be, but my sister lives in Toronto, I'd feel bad flying overhead and giving her a miss.
although I'm sure it would wear off eventually...Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

we did a very last minute one way rental from Toronto to Buffalo last year after our flight was re-touted. There was no one way fee I'm sure. I think it was Hertz, worth looking at, though I also know some charge on distance.
Speak to Elle at Tripwheels.com - she was so helpful to us on the other 2 car hires we did on the same roadtrip (we had flights in between too to save driving times), and managed to save us lots. Its a UK company, and was recommended to us by friends.0
