Mis sold a Data Bundle by Vodaphone

Options
Hi first time on forum so please bear with me.
I recently moved to ireland needed internet access which is difficult as we live in a remote area. We chose vodaphone as it was recommended as having the best coverage for our area. We requested the best deal for data usage (bundle size) and were sold a phone contract for two years @ 60 euro per month for 7gb. We later found out that we could have been offered a sim only that would give us 70 gb for the same price per month. At present we eat our data and it lasts virtually no time at all.
November 2 2016 I emailed head office and they said they would investigate the matter and get back to me. They did not respond so I emailed again on the 8th.They then responded on 9th They then said that the shop had been very helpful and checked the coverage for us and we agreed to the two year contract and that was that.
I contacted them back said we had no issue with the helpfulness etc but we were not getting the best deal for our money as we were never given a choice and were quite happy to send the phone back and get the sim only and continue to pay the 60 Euro until the end of the contract period.
They have no contacted me back. Time goes on and we continue to lose money on a phone that is equivalent to what we already have instead of being able to just change the sim.
Is there a way i can get this sorted without going to the ombudsman etc. I feel they are just going to mess me around as they havent answered my issue.

Thankyou

  • You could follow the advice on the main Vodafone complaints thread and contact the WRT. On the face of it you're crying over spilt milk. Lots of people buy things and then find they could have got something better for less. I doubt the Ombudsman would get you very far.

One saving grace is Vodafone don't like the ombudsman, and may well settle before they make decision, that's what happened to me
