Hi there
Apologies if this has been covered before but I parked at a tube station the other day going to work and have just received a pcn for the day. I pay by text so I checked my phone and I can't see that I paid for some reason, I have no idea why - must have been a numpty moment. The amount to park would have been £4.00 for the day but the ticket is for £100 -or £60 if I pay quickly.
I know I am in the wrong for forgetting to pay but surely £60 is excessive? Can someone let me know what I should do? Should I just cough up as it was my mistake but £60 seems a bit steep.
thanks in advance

its not deemed "excessive" since Beavis lost at the Supreme Court 12 months ago
it is likely that byelaws apply and so the TOC has 6 months to take the driver to magistrates court
if this was INDIGO or similar, use the forum search to find similar threads for TOC and railway issues0 -
Thank you, I think I will just pay it as I am in the wrong even by accident and much as I hate the charges, I'm not a dishonest person so will just get it off my conscience and cough up.0

no, the £4.00 was to park there for the whole day - I don't think you can pay for any shorter time than that.0

Oh give over. Please think again. Do you think we are dishonest? I'm certainly not!Thank you, I think I will just pay it as I am in the wrong even by accident and much as I hate the charges, I'm not a dishonest person so will just get it off my conscience and cough up.
Same advice as above and on this thread, we have these every day:

Come on, see it off with the easy two stage template appeals (I've already written your appeal for stage 1 and there are template jigsaw pieces already written for building stage 2 'POPLA' appeals). These fake PCNs from private companies are a national scandal and a disgrace, NOT to be paid.
You are supporting this very nasty industry and funding the next fake PCN against a vulnerable person if you pay.
It would not make me proud if a member of my family was such an easy touch for a con.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
