Indigo parking penalty notice

Options
I park in Cuffley station car park and get the train into London. I buy a weekly ticket from the station to cover my parking, but one morning this week I forgot to display my ticket on the dashboard which resulted in me getting an Indigo Penalty Notice - Breach code: 01 - parked without displaying valid payment.

I've still got the ticket so can send that as evidence, but I've been told they will reject my appeal and state it had to be clearly displayed.

Is there anything I can do to appeal as I was in possession of a valid ticket?

Thanks in advance.

  • Have a search of the forum for 'Indigo' and you'l find any number of threads which inform you what to do.

Basically, they will reject no mater what you say, but as it's a railway station byelaws apply. The idea is to drag the process out for 6 months.

Read other Indigo threads by searching the forum, as well as the NEWBIES thread which gives you a template first appeal to get a POPLA code, then you win.

Do not appeal 'as the driver' nor as 'the owner'. The NEWBIES FAQS thread explains why you MUST appeal as the 'registered keeper'.

prjohnsonnn on pepipoo's post is also worth reading:

Post #26. He knows his stuff. You could follow his example and challenge it using that FOI request and saying that they have no case and should cancel. You can attach the ticket to the appeal email but you MUST NOT say 'my ticket' or 'I paid' for flippin' obvious reasons mentioned in the umpteen dozen other recent Indigo threads we hope you've now read...! Do not say who the owner of the car is either.

HTH, relax, this is all smoke & mirrors. Get this past six months and it's timed out, so even if POPLA 'adjourn' the case it doesn't matter.

prjohnsonn's post and the FOI request shows that no third party can issue a byelaws 'penalty' anyway.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
