Good post. I got a Motorola V220 from Mobileshop today which is also free for 12 months (thanks to cashback).

I found out about it from a site linked from here in the "Shopping" section called "Reestit Mutton's Bargain Basement" and also e-mailed the guy who runs the site and he was very helpful. If you use this site, go to the "Latest Additions" section where he has many good deals on phones and other stuff.

  • Even better than Rpoints etc is a new casback site - Quidco will give you thirty pounds back with Mobileshop.

yes, that's right. It works through cashback that you claim back after 6 and 12 months. So you pay e.g. £25 per month, then claim back £150 in m6 and £150 in m12.

I did this a few weeks back and sold the handset on ebay for even more profit - also there is no restriction on tariff downgrade for cashback so how about the following:
    v220 on O2 350 + 250 texts
    6 months x £35
    6 months x £16 (cheapest O2 tariff)
    =£306

    Get back cashback 2*£175
    Quidco £30
Sell Phone £60 net (check recent ebay prices)
    =£440
    ?! :-)
    I think....

That'll only work if they allow downgrading after 6 months without invalidating your cash back- e2save DO NOT- I'm not sure re mobileshop
You know what... you can't beat a good bargain!!!
