I wouldn't hesitate to ask and I wouldn't feel the slightest bit embarrassed if they said no. They could even laugh witheringly as they said no and get their mates in to share the joke and I wouldn't care.

EDIT: I didn't realise it was nine months ago!

I realise this was from 9 months ago but....how did you get 20% off?

The cash back paid back £20 of the £100 that was spent on vouchers.

But the TSB cashback is/was 5% so why £20 rather than £5?

More then one TSB account? or offers on top of the 5%? I get 10% for shopping at Morrisons every so often, and I use that to buy gift cards, as the system doesnt know what the money is spent on.

    Only my assumptions though.

I suspect a mixing up of 5% and 1/5. (As 10% is 1/10,many assume that 5% is 1/5,20% is 1/20 etc. A nonsense which suggests the higher the percentage the lower the fraction, but I often found it when teaching adult basic skills)

    5% (ie 1/20) of £100 is £5,but 1/5 (ie20%) of £100 is £20.

TSB paid 5% (now only 3%),so just £5 for every £100.
