Is there any way to port a number to a new contract but not close down the old contract?
I think....

  • I don't think so, as porting a number usually automatically cancels the old contract. It might be worth speaking with the old contract people and ask about keeping it going on a fresh number, don't hold your breath though.

Can't be done, sorry. Porting the number force the acc to close. That's the way the system is.

I'm thinking if I were to get a payg sim with the same company and then ask if they can swap the two sims' numbers over then port from payg....might work?

Its the same thing as soon as you try to change the number you will loose the other also you cannot port the number to the same network apart from O2 i think.

As Jon 01 said it can't be done.
