Don't forget a scratch post. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

He's gorgeous Suki 😀. Black and white is my favourite (with everything cats/dogs/horses/hens).
And Arthur seems perfect for him!0 -
Don't forget a scratch post.
While, it may help, it's no guarantee that your furniture/carpets won't get scratched. Get an indoor plant sprayer - adjust the nozzle to a jet - any bad scratching behaviour - spray (preferably when it can't see you doing it). A few times of doing that, mine stopped scratching the bed, but still does the landing step carpet - wool carpets the worst.
Mine prefers gravy based pouches rather than jelly ones, and is quite alright with supermarket ones - Morrisons 1st, then Sainsburys!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

Mine too can be naughty about scratching furniture and carpet but they prefer the scratch post as more satisfying. We have a big one from zooplus. The bengal cat likes our rough bedroom carpet and the tabby does the living room rug occasionally and the end of the sofa. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
He's lovely. We got two rescue kittens at the beginning of September. Both are thriving now and are going outside for the first time this weekend. It's very rewarding when they begin to trust you and come to you for cuddles and play.0

We bought a really tall cat tree as they love climbing high up. I use greenwood litter which is organic clumpping and can be flushed ,or you can buy nappy bags to put T he clumps in.
Dry food isn't good particularly for boys as they are prone to urinary infections.
I feed raw food pre made, but you can make your own. This is great he loves it and works out cheaper than pet food like felix and whiskas etc ,if you look on the tin is full of unnecessary additives and fillers. With raw his poo doesn't smell and his coat is beautiful and silky. Only give water no milk as they are lactose intolerant.
Mine loves screwed up bits of paper and will play fetch for ages. Also check out flying frenzy or similar.
Enjoy your little fur baby, great for stress all the cuddles and stroking !Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
Well he's been here since Wednesday lunchtime
And he's growing
He's learning to play, which is wonderful to see and be part of
He was in a tiny cattery and now in a massive house so we humans are having to learn to keep doors closed. He's the run of a living room , bathroom, hall, stairs and mothers living room and the kitchen whilst I'm in there. The kitchen he's not keen on as I suppose the noise levels and movement is all too much
He's getting brave enough to have a sniff and dander around mums living room, but runs if she goes towards him
With us, it's going slow but surely. He comes sits with me now, but will shy away from hubby if he moves too fast ( but then it's me that feeds him ) lol
His favourite spot is on the back of the sofa, over looking the stairwell. That or snuggled into a wardrobe
He's bringing us a lot of joy, both of us are surprised seeing as we have always been doggie people without the time of day for cats before
Early days, we are all learning but it's going ok for now
He's on the lidl food, he eats it, doesn't turn his nose up and whilst I want to change him to raw , right now isn't the right time. He's a lot of changes right now , as have we0 -
What a lovely update0

As a child there were always cats, but I personally have never owned one
Things appear to have moved on, I remember back then, going to the pet shop and getting slabs of cat food which was wrapped in newspaper - and it stank and was full of gristly bits:eek: Fido meat was the name of it
Well I'm going at 2 to arrange a home visit and make my choice. There were two toms we were rather taken with, one had been abanded at the side of the road in the country. Both pretty timid with us, but went happily to the lady who cares for them
I'll take pics then
Get both - twice as nice!:)0 -
Don't spoil him by giving him treats. Stick to mealtimes only . It's not a treat to a cat. Cats have no concept of treats. It's food. That's itmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
