Sleeping in shed

Trump'll soon sort them out.0

No, I wouldn't report it. I'd be too worried they would end up on the streets if I did. Any roof is better than none at all.
I would make an effort to talk to them and see if I could help in any way, especially if I thought the landlord was taking advantage, but I wouldn't interfere if they didn't want me to.0 -
Long story but, i'd put my house in joint names with my Sister. And when we fell out, for a long time i thought the only option i was going to have was a shed, or park bench.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Definitely I'd report it. I'd be on the phone within the hour.
The main reason for doing so being in order to protect my neighbourhood from this being the start of a trend - and the next thing I knew there was all sorts of "beds in sheds" around me and the neighbourhood felt overcrowded and maybe not like "my" type of neighbourhood any longer.
I'd also be worried about things like possible fire/hygiene/etc hazards.
.....and, yes, when one has had to struggle so hard as many of us have to get the money for a house and then do a lot of work on the house - then you're not going to see someone else reduce the value of all that hard work/investment either if you can help it.
....and yep...I'll admit it would make a difference if it was one family's British middle-class adult son or daughter having a "posh pad" shed for independence in mummy and daddy's garden.....so shoot me....
BTW - What was the tv programme? I'm wondering if I can get it up on Iplayer to see?0 -
Yep, absolutely would report it. UK has processes in place to prevent the need for this. There are minimum housing standards for a reason.0

In may parts of London, sleeping in bed is the norm. People rent out beds in sheds.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

I think you may find that some councils turn a blind eye because they don't want to have to house the tenants if they are evicted.0

I rather think we're probably talking about people that don't have a right to be here anyway - so I would doubt the Councils would be that concerned about rehousing them.0 -
Yes I would because unless such people are caught they will continue to exploit vulnerable people. There are housing charities who can help and the council have certain responsibilities to help the homeless. Only issue is someone who has no recourse to public funds might then be in a sticky situation.0
