Good Morning,
If I'm truly honest, I've been a bit embarrassed about coming on to update, as I have fallen into the same pay day triggers I have in the past - basically feeling flush and spending. This is something I need to continue to work on.
I spent most of yesterday morning reconciling the accounts in preparation for the April budget. I ended last month £35.47 over budget due to petrol and not budgeting for the window cleaner.
I have a plan to get this rectified, but as I said, I ended up falling into old habits. Instead of doing a top up shop, I did a bigger shop which came to £78.18 (this included some bits for DD's birthday party and easter eggs needed for this month).
I also needed to get DD a new pair of wellies (as her school one's were a size 12 and she is now a 1.5), a new school drinks bottle as she lost her other one this week, and DD2 needed new socks and a swimming costume. This was covered by child benefit account.
This spending is something I need to be more mindful of and continue to work on.
Monetary wins this week
1. I have stuck to the meal plan and have made up a meal plan for next week too. The only planned spends is for the milk man and other than that, I cannot spend a penny.
2. I have continued to try to earn money from home and am currently £18.58 away from my weekly target, so I need to continue working on this today.
3. I did sign up to a mystery shopping site this week and did my first visit, the money and expenses for this will be paid 10/04.
4. I took DD2 to a free swimming session.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
This weekend has been fairly quiet in our house. Spends were a bottle of bleach and a bottle of milk, as we had run out before our milk delivery.
We have eaten from the meal plan and I met my weekly earnings target last night (the payments from typing work are based on Sunday-Saturday earnings).
This week I will work on having 5/7 NSD's2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
This week is off to a decent start, I had an NSD yesterday and today will also be an NSD.
All payday shuffles have been completed and the meal plan has been stuck to (a couple of days have been re-jigged following a chorus of 'I don't fancy that').
I'm keeping my eye out for extra income opportunities and have bagged a mystery shop for later in the month. I checking daily as they seem to keep adding them/updating them each day and if you're not quick, they go.
I currently have another typing job on the go and picked some up yesterday too, so i'm off the blocks for this weeks earnings target.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
Just dropping in with an update
Yesterday and today were NSD's (I had to pay for DD1 school trip, but as that's from the child benefit account, I'm counting it as an NSD :rotfl:).
I have picked up typing work both days (today's is still a work in progress, but I've almost hit this week's target for earnings).
I have managed to pick up a couple more mystery shop jobs, can't give details, but needless to say, the money (minus expenses) will all go to the savings pots :money:2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
It's Friday!!! :j
The weekly shop has been done for a total of £31.39.
Mothers day bouquet bits (homemade) came in at £9.99 total, including wrapping. A comparable tulip bouquet in a vase is being sold on the internet is £28
Both DD's birthday cards purchased and put away for now.
Everything has been bought within the budget and I'm feeling pretty pleased about the homemade bouquet.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
Hi!
I managed a No Spend Weekend here.
I have spent £1 today taking DD2 to a local playgroup. She enjoyed herself, so I didn't mind it being a low spend activity. Free swim planned for tomorrow :money:
This weeks activities will predominantly be low spend days, as I need to get some wadding for the ironing board, I need to pop into a local town tomorrow, so will keep my eyes open for any bargain birthday/xmas presents.
I have found a couple of free activities for half term, but need to do some more planning on this.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
Good Evening!
Blimey it's been cold today ... I hope you're all staying warm wherever you are.
As predicted, this week has seen days of smaller spends, with the exception of yesterday, when the weekly shop was done, I got £10 of petrol and needed some bits from Wilko - £50 spent in total.
I have done a couple of mystery shops this week, which are pending being signed off for payment, and today was spent deep cleaning the oven :rotfl:
Currently on budget, but I need to pick up some more typing work to meet my weekly earnings target2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
I have founds loads of free activities at the libraries, and also planning on meeting up with friends for a walk and having some play dates.

Good morning!
Thanks for stopping by EG, I had stopped by the library as my first port of call and they have two things we're going to take advantage of in the second week, although I have a feeling they're going to be popular, so we'll need to get there early.
I have got a day out planned with DD1 in the first week, which will involve a train and meal out, as we're going further afield to meet family for a theater trip.
This weekend, including Friday has been No Spend. OH did spend money from his entertainment budget on a few pints with his Dad, but that's it. I have been doing some work in the bathroom, deep clean/grout reviver (that's been in the shed for months) and will need to re-paint the ceiling today (again with stuff from the shed).
We will have a couple of house spends nest week - I need to call an electrician as a pendant light fitting broke when was trying to clean and replace the shade and bulb  and also a friend has agreed to fit a new bathroom cabinet for us. We're just starting to work through all those home maintenance things that need to be done, as I find if we don't keep on top of them, things mount up very quickly2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
:hello:Hi
I'm just taking a few minutes with a brew to collect my thoughts.
This week has been a fairly spendy week, which we knew was going to happen, but I feel like this month is very much feast or (self-imposed) famine with our budget.
This week I spent £60 on a food shop, which included a few store cupboard/toiletry items. I have bought some bits we needed for the house in terms of the maintenance jobs we have listed to work through and have arranged for both trades people to come in to complete the work that we're not qualified to do/would make a hash of.
I have a list of home jobs that I will continue to work through over the coming weeks. I don't foresee any need to buy anything else to complete the jobs, it's just time now.
Other than this, we are ticking along. I hope everyone is well and enjoying this lovely weather.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0
