I got a ticket for THIS???

So some keen parking warden gave me a ticket at 9pm on thursday night. I was parked outside of any permit zone. I live in Bristol.

note on ticket and on website:
"Parked in a special enforcement area more than 50cm from the edge of the carriageway and not within a designated parking place "
!!!!!!? I got a ticket for parking too far from the kerb??? How draconian is that. In that photo you could probably fit a 30cm ruler between the trye and the kerb. Not 50cm I'm sure.
I'm starting to wonder if it was actually issued because I'm parked infront of a sloped crossing point. but there are no road markings saying I can't park there... 'desingated parking space' there are none on this road. It's just a residential road with free parking down the entire length.
Advice most welcome!

Is this a council ticket? If so go to https://www.pepipoo.com as they are the experts on council tickets.
You will have to register, do not use a hotmail address as pepipoo does not allow them for some reason.0 -
And were you?
If parked in front of the dropped kerb it would say just that.
There is no requirement for a council to paint lines for a dropped kerb.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Can you give the location so we can have a look on Street View?
If the dropped kerb was there for the purpose of assisting disabled people or pedestrians (normally designated by red paving tiles), then as said it's a no no to park there.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

[STRIKE]And the answer as to how far out you were parked was? [/STRIKE]as the council have not chosen to ticket you for the dropped kerb offence you might as well forget this as its a red herring.
parking more than 2 foot from the kerb can be very anti social if its a narrow road, some councils use the same offence for people double parked.
Missed a bit of the OP.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Yes. You can get a Penalty Charge Notice.
Why do you think dropped kerbs exist?0 -
As said earlier, if this is a real Penalty Charge Notice then get thee to Pepipoo.
PS - I can't see the image whilst at work. That link is giving me the following error:
