Air Money review?

Hi, I hadn't heard of Air Money before but they seem to offer quite competitive rates just now but I'm a bit wary of using a company I'm not familiar with.

Has anyone had any experience with them?

air.money is a start-up owned by City Forex Ltd (established 2004), who are registered with the FCA (#524412).

The actual exchange rate they give is obscured, you are expected to accept the cost for the amount you want by using a slider scale, with the claim that the rate is better the more you buy. Right now for £1000 they give €1140 - a rate of 1.140 when the mid-rate is 1.162

Why pay these margins to buy cash when you can get the perfect MasterCard or interbank rate by using a suitable card for travel?

  • I have used cards in the past but that won't work for us this time. We need to be able to get the cash before we leave.

(I see airmoney is there, perhaps that's how you found them...)

  • Yes that is how I found them but I was looking for some customer feedback.
    Thanks anyway.
  • Try John Lewis currency, might not be the top rate but always a decent rate with the backing of John Lewis got to be secure.

I've used them several times and never been let down - very easy to use and the rate online is the same as in their stores.

This is a fixed rate for the day I believe.
