Thank you, natty, for last week's thread

It is your responsibility to read the forum rules, please follow them on this thread as Flylady has been here a LONG time and is a fabulous support and resource for lots of us.

Welcome to the Weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
    WM ~ Washing machine
    TD ~ Tumble dryer
    SC ~ Slowcooker
    BM ~ Breadmaker
    DW ~ Dishwasher
SOAADFA ~ Sit on 'bottom' and do 'nothing'
KH/XH/FW ~ Ex-husband and other not so polite versions
    DH/DD/DS/DW/DP ~ Dear husband/daughter/son/wife/partner/whatever
    OH/SO ~ Other half/significant other
    NN ~ nice neighbour
Toxic (friend/mother/sister/whoever) ~ person in your life that seems to exist to make your life miserable
AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
    ETA ~ Edited to add
Gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up!
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!

Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al - supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!!

    • Oooh am I first? Its going to be a very busy week, my boss is away so I have to cover for him as well as doing my own job. DS1s moped is in the garage so I will have have to help ferry him about until it is fixed. The car will have to also go into the garage because a warning light has come on.

So I need to keep flying as best I can! Mealplan is done, washing over the airer, house is reasonably tidy. Bring on the new week!

Thanks, Valli. My oven needs doing, but...

At least the enormous frog that was the Gift Aid claim is now dealt with :D
Now another enormous frog is rearing its ugly head - my college assignment  - and I am already short of time this week because my goddaughter is coming to stay for a few days. It will be great to see her, though :)

DH has got to go for an MRI scan tomorrow morning, so that will be half the day gone before I know it.

Reminder to everyone - if you want to join in the :xmassmile Flylady Secret Santa :xmassmile please send me your details so that I can add you to the list - your Flylady ID, your real name (if you want to disclose it) and your own postal address, or one where your parcel can be accepted. You can PM me, or find my email in my Secret Santa post on the MSE Flyladies FB page. Don't post personal details in this thread!

Your details will be passed on to your very own Flylady Santa, who will send your gift direct to you, and of course you will receive somebody else's details so that you can send them a gift. The average spend is probably about £5, but some people choose to spend more and others less: it's entirely up to you.

I will sort out the list on :xmassmile 20th November :xmassmile and then email/PM you as soon as possible.

      So far I have:

Thanks Valli and thanks to natty for last week. I sooooo need to be in! Also have college work but kitchen relatively easy as I did lots tonight :) will chase laundry round too although I've just put some away and got uniform ready.

Lunch made for DS, will do bags in morning although DD fell off her bike (no hospital for this one thankfully!) and bashed her hip on the handle bars and says she's not doing pe tomorrow... We'll see. On the plus side she is setting off and turning all by herself now so she was very pleased with herself until...

Anyway, I'm off to Bedfordshire, nighty night xx

    • Thanks Valli, and Natty for last week.

Ooh moo, I bet that came sharp.

I'm in and will try to follow the list rather than tackle something quite so exhausting this week! Oven and hob need doing but.... Urgh.

Working until noon tomorrow, then food delivery due between 1 and 2, then mum wants me at hers and dad's to help unpack stuff, then picking up DS from school at 4:30pm (after school club). Will fit in cleaning before Mr S arrives, although it's not looking too bad (other than the cooker) thanks to you guys!

Thanks for lists. A busy work week so I'll try and scamper in the hopes I might get off the ground and take flight. However, downstairs is fine as we did it yesterday and it stayed ok as we had the incentive of MIL round for dinner. Not sure about the big appliance, luckily with an aga-clone it pretty much cleans itself by incinerating any spills, just need to vacuum it now and again lol.

Apart from list and scheduled work, I'd like to chip away at the shelf-full-of-folders frog. Done 10 out of 37 so far.

Best wishes to all on another happy/successful/reassuring week, especially all those with medical stuff going on.

      Evening all

Thank you Natty and Valli for the lists and I'm in

Sorry I've been MIA but laptop finally gave up and I found trying to use the tablet just too frustrating and eye-aching. Now fired up on a new laptop - thanks to a lovely DH lending me the funds. Only trouble is I had to go to win10 but seems okay atm.

I love starting the week with the kitchen

Thank you for the lists natty and Valli.

Oh I'm actually in front of myself today I'm counting my big appliance as defrosting the freezer yesterday. But the oven needs doing before Christmas so will keep that on my to do list.

Up early as couldn't sleep so going to be decadent and do a bit of knitting in bed-started a little knitted toy for DGS last night. It's a cabbies character I've never heard of but dd2 said he loves it when I showed her the patter. Sone kind of weird orange blob thing with black arms and legs.

Had a message to say godDD who's in New Zealand is alright and not in dangerous area so relieved about that.

      Have a good day all.

    • Good morning all

I am in, thank you so much for the lists. I was non-stop yesterday, batch cooking, baking and generally picking up after everyone else, so the place really needs a deep clean today.

First though a cuppa, then the school morning mayhem commences!

This week will be a better one, I'm sure of it.

      Big hugs all round xxx
