Yes? I was asked to change it, which I did.
I think you are focusing far too much on the detail and far too little on my (obvious) expectations as a potential customer. Those expectations (based upon actual experiences with other retailers) are that Click & Collect will be near-immediate (subject to in-store stock), free, and will include a free deliver-to-shop option if the item is not available from existing shop stock.
I don't think that's at all unreasonable, and Currys, Argos, etc., obviously agree with me. Maybe there are logistical differences between stocking/moving different sizes of memory sticks compared to different sizes of shoes (I really don't know), but that's my expectation.
The first C&C order I ever did with PC World really set the parameters for this (and I consider it to be best practice):-
- A memory card
- Reserved on-line at the on-line price
- Same day availability
- Text message within an hour to say the item was ready
- Item was immediately to hand when I went to collect it
- No charge for this service
- Price paid was significantly less than the in-store price
- Paid in store
- Could have let the order lapse (at no charge) simply by not collecting0 -
I'm not focusing on anything.Cornucopia wrote: »Yes? I was asked to change it, which I did.

I just pointed out that to say 'everyone else does C&C for free' wasn't correct.0 -
Unfortunately, it was one of those "perfect storm" moments where it was inevitably difficult to distinguish between "every Retailer whose C&C I have used" and "every Retailer".
I shall try to be more psychic in future.0 -
Maybe less all-encompassing might be better. :whistle:Cornucopia wrote: »Unfortunately, it was one of those "perfect storm" moments where it was inevitably difficult to distinguish between "every Retailer whose C&C I have used" and "every Retailer".

And that's fine.Cornucopia wrote: »I would genuinely never have guessed that there were two distinct approaches to C&C - presumably representative of those retailers who have excellent stock control, and those who don't.
I just don't understand why you're making such a fuss about being told you were wrong - as in these replies to posters pointing out you were wrong.Cornucopia wrote: »Be careful what you wish for.

I'm not making a fuss. I'm surprised the people telling me that I was wrong are making a fuss.0

Glad you accept you were wrong.Cornucopia wrote: »I'm not making a fuss. I'm surprised the people telling me that I was wrong are making a fuss.
