Have a look at your local airport's website, most of them list destinations that you can fly to, there may be some inspiration for you.

Did Paris for mine with the Eurostar using Tesco vouchers.

I think I'd agree with Sorrento - Amalfi drive, Ravelo, Positano - absolutely fab. Went last April and had the most fantastic time. Other suggestion - still Italy so not very imaginative - Florence.

My friend went to Prague and had a ball on her 40th.

When it was my Hubbys 40th we went to NY - was great.

I would also recommend Dublin - its a wonderful city with a great atmosphere. Lots to see and do.

It depends what you want to do really!
I've just got back from Alghero in Sardinia. We managed to get some real cheapy flights with Ryanair from Stansted (paid £90 for 2). We stayed in a very clean well located B&B (Sul Golfo) via www.sardegna.com which was about £250 for 2 people/7 nights. The town is very beautiful (google Alghero), on the coast with beautiful beaches and great restaurants. As it's in the North West it's not as expensive as the more touristy places in Sardinia.
