Milliets

It was the stones the main issues. You could really feel them pushing through. Even though I had proper hiking socks on.
Afterwards in July. I got a set of nearly new Anatom V3 walking boots for £40 on EBAY & they are completely different story. A much more pleasureable experience. Hence the Peter Storms into the wardrobe!
I saw recently before Milliets taking the advert down. Other buyers saying the same thing about the Peter Storm range, which suddenly arose my interest in returning these to milliets. I am extremely disappointed in the Vibram sole on this model. Tesco's sell a cushioning inpact insole with money back guarentee for £6 I might try them.0 -
That sounds like acceptance to me. By all means take them back to Millets and you may well get a goodwill gesture but then again.Afterwards in July. neilmcl don't get me wrong. I know in hiking clothing you get what you pay for. Just forked out for a Paramo jacket and can't believe I put up with cheap waterproof before.
However, these boots were purchased for not heavy duty use IMHO. Paths, lights hills etc. They are certainly not up to the job. That's what I am saying.
However, if I went to Milliets and asked for credit note for another purchase, I am considering a pair of Meindl's. (Milliets have an online discount), I think they glady will go for that proposal!0 -
[Actually I have worked for both Millets and Blacks, and even though they are in the same company, they both stock different ranges. Millets is designed to be a much cheaper option for people, however uses substandard levels of gear. Peter storm is not a valid option for walking boots! Millets mainly sells own brand gear (which is quite frankly rubbish).]
I just found the above from an extensive intenet search. Pity I didn't see it beforehand. I'll try my luck with Milliets in the week and see how it goes.
Thanks for the replies!0 -
When you wore the Peter Storm boots did you have any blisters or other damage to your feet, especially the balls of the feet?0
-
Don't go for Meindls for light hill walking etc. They are the gold standard for serious walkers but they take a lot of wearing in. If you're not out regularly you'll go through a lot of pain before comfort.
And it's Millets, not Milliets!0 -
cookie - No blisters at all. The first time mostly grass fields. They was ok. However 2nd/3rd time over stones just felt everything underneath.0

That does sound like a sole that's too thin then.cookie - No blisters at all. The first time mostly grass fields. They was ok. However 2nd/3rd time over stones just felt everything underneath.
Putting pressure on the ball of the foot when you have a blister does feel like standing on stones
