Cosmetic damage to furniture

Hello
Can anyone give me any advice. We received two items of bedroom furniture, which both have minor cosmetic damage. The larger item has two or three small nicks/dints.
We paid a lot of money for these and are less than impressed due to the cost.
The reputed company has said they will send a technician to repair cosmetic damage but we aren't happy as the furniture was expensive and we feel that we are being fobbed off. We have asked for a replacement / refund but been told that nothing can be done until the technician assesses the damage. Can you advise on whats the best thing to do?

Personally I would let the technician assess the damage, see what he/she says then see what can be done from there.
Until it has been assessed I cannot see you can do anything, you never know they could agree and replace/refund once they see the damage0 -

If you are within thirty days of delivery, then you have a statutory right to reject the goods as not conforming to contract and expect to receive a full refund.
Having said that, I too would be inclined to let their technician assess the situation first.0
