Obviously being an emergency fund 'if' I draw against it I will again have a gander at what's about dependant on what's left and place it in the best possible option available..... That I'm sure,if it comes to it, will be a new thread 0

apart from pricing, the only difference between halifax and iweb is that iweb doesn't have a regular investing facility. so halifax might be more convenient for adding money monthly. with iweb, you'd need to log in each month and enter your purchase order (which would be very quick, once you've learnt how to do it - but you have to get around to doing it each month).
halifax might also win on pricing. £2 per regular purchase x 12 = £24 a year, + £12.50 annual ISA fee = £36.50.
compared to £5 for every purchase with iweb x 12 = £60 per year. (with no ISA fee.)
however, £12.50 for sales (or non-regular purchases) with halifax, compared to only £5 with iweb. (but sales will presumably be rarer than purchases.)
and £25 to open the iweb account.0 -
Well the money is here and I've opened a Halifax SD acc.
I'm going with the VLS but after reading others threads I'm wondering if instead of placing my full ollowence into just one fund maybe I should split the cash between let's say 10k in the VLS and the remainder into another, possible small caps or EM?
That said I'll be investing the full alloence again in april so maybe and bolt on funds could wait till then?0
