Been back today, and it was a different attendant. Was sat in the car behind railings to avoid being seen, and was noting down times of cars entering the car park and leaving the car park on their phone. These times were then being sent to their office. If the attendant sees a breach they then go and take a photo of the car which they then send to the office. Can't say name of firm at moment but they are IPC. i am fancying having my day in court even if I lose just out of curiosity to see what the law makes of it all. Will keep you all posted
  • Check out page 12 section 6 ticketing, 6.2 this is guidance but which is also stated in POFA 2012.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/9155/guidance-unpaid-parking-charges.pdf

As the contravention is not being detected remotely but by the physical presence of the attendant who has to manually input the data I reckon a reasonable judge might go for it.

The wording of that section is ambiguous ... it doesn't say that the camera can't be held by an attendant. (I agree it's worth a shot though ... section 6.2 seems to indicate a situation where an attendant isn't present, otherwise section 6.1 should apply).
