How to tell if neighbours own or rent?

Is there any easy way of finding out if properties in my street are owned or rented? I know I could ask people but I rarely see them and I don't fancy knocking on someones door to ask if they own or rent as I doubt I'd get an answer.

I have tried looking on Rightmove and many of the properties in my street haven't sold in the last 15 years. I can't believe the same people have all lived in all of them for that long so it got me wondering who owns and who doesn't.

I have absolutely no idea who owns or rents in my street and I don't care. It is a nice street and that's all I need to know.

Well, someone certainly owns the property :)

It's not unheard of for owners to live in a property for longer than 15 years.

I expect you could cross-reference the electoral roll (or names on doors etc) with land registry details. In Scotland you can search the landlord registration website.

Knock on the doors and ask them?

I'm sure they'll be only to willing to tell you...

The full, unexpurgated Electoral Roll is to be found in the library. If You Are Really Really Interested, it's there for you but the leafing through that may leave you squinting at the small print.

Why can't you believe people are living in the same house for 15 years?

I've been in mine 12 and have no intention of moving till I'm doddering

My sister has been in hers for nearly 30 years

My mum was in hers for 25 years...

Man around the corner was born and died in his house, his son has lived next door for 30 odd years

Why do you ask??? Are you having problems with your neighbours?

I know many people who have lived in their house for 15 years or more, my parents for one!
