Economy 7 percentage?

The O/P is making the mistake that 99% of all-electric users make, they want a snapshot in time of their use. Unless you live on a different planet for 6 months of the year you have an annual leccy bill not a part annual bill. Use is going to double or treble in the winter as is the % split so a snapshot might say 19% but the annual use of cheap rate might be a very beneficial 35%.
Leccy for I assume 90% of users is CAC÷12=£
If for any reason you don't use your annual consumption figures then all others calculations are only at best a guess. If the O/P asks the supplier they will know the previous consumption of that dwelling from the MPAN and be able to supply a 'guesstimate' CAC.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Get the meter changed to single rate only.you are not eligable for some of the cheapest tariffs while you keep your eco 7 meter.OK the big six may be able to total the two reads but none of the others will so bite the bullet and pay them what they charge to rid yourself of that meter.Even if the supplier comes to change the meter they will only replace it with another eco 7.You have gas central heating so your electricity usage will not be that much more in the winter months like your gas bill will be. As a rough guess I would expect the supplier to be charging at least £60 as part payment to the cost of the local DNO charges. Also you may need a private electrician for the minor changes in the wiring that are needed. This will not be the suppliers responsibilityThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

OP, what kind of heating/hot water do you have?
You may find the E7 meter is legacy and not needed anymore.0 -
My thoughts exactly-if they are not storage heaters, what sort are they? Do you have gas CH and hot water, with wet radiators?
Very few people can make E7 pay if it's only used for hot water, as all your heating (if electric) will be at peak rate E7.
You can't accurately calculate your E7 percentage until you have gone through a full winter usage cycle. No free lunch, and no free laptop

We have gas heating and hot water. We have E7, and always have had.
We use approximately 25% low rate electricity, whereas 7/24 is about 29%
It pays for us as demonstrated by consulting a comparison site.
The results may vary by region.
If you don't have gas (or oil etc) for heating, but use electricity, you really need to think about night storage heating as any other will cost a small fortune to run whatever tariff you are on (except for modern alternatives such as heat pumps will cost a small fortune to install in the first place)0 -

Not really very useful as it is a limited time, and summertime at that.
What is your anticipated annual consumption of both rates in kWh.
Contact your energy supplier if you do not know. You must have told them, or allowed them to estimate it, when you agreed to the fixed tariff you are currently on. (If estimated originally, how is that progressing comnpared with actual usage, taking seasonal variations into account)?0 -

This doesn't quite make sense to me. Were FU offering a 6 month fixed term tariff back in July??? :huh:0 -
Not when they have no usage history!!A simple consultation with any comparison site will establish that.
What kind of heating/hot water the OP has is irrelevant
What is the point of trying to best-guess calculate the ratio and faff with a comparison site if the OP has GCH? E7 is very unlikely to make sense in that situation.0 -
That's all they have, new house and all that. Not really very useful as it is a limited time, and summertime at that.
aka, pointless made up figure? What is your anticipated annual consumption of both rates in kWh.
What will they know about it? Do they have intimate details about the OP's specific heating arrangement?Contact your energy supplier if you do not know.0
