It's not doing you any harm so I wouldn't worry about it.
I think my main concern was that its reporting under an old address.0 -
I think my main concern was that its reporting under an old address.
It's probably not doing you many favours under an old address. I think you need to persist with EE. They should be able to find this account using the details you have on your credit report including your old adress and the last 4 digits of your account number.0 -
I've tried that before, but they claimed they couldn't find my details with that information.
I've taken the easy option, and submitted a Resolver complaint to Orange with all the details I have, so we'll see what they come back with.
I'll update results here when I have them.0 -
Ok - that was pretty painless, fast and impressive. Got a reply already and sounds like they're doing what's needed - can't imagine that the final bill will show anything other than nothing owing .... hopefully.
That was a whole lot easier than trying to talk with their call centre before! Thanks for your email about your Orange account remaining open with the incorrect address. I'm sorry to hear your account wasn't closed as you expected. This isn't a level of service we expect our customers to receive and I'm sorry you've been let down.
I sincerely apologise the account wasn't cancelled as you requested, unfortunately, due to the time that as passed since your original contact there are no notes available.
I have updated the address on the account and requested the account to be cancelled. As you were on a plan were you were only charged for any usage, there will be a final bill sent out to you shortly to confirm this. I have also contacted our Credit File Team to ensure this information is updated on your Credit File. Any changes will take 72 hours to reflect.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact me, you were right to do so. I'm glad you've given me the chance to correct this for you.0 -
whats the bet that orange send a bill for 1p to the old address, then start reporting a non payment every month

Maybe the same account i got for my wife around the same time?
It was pay as you go (sort of) But you used the phone as much/little as you wanted and then they billed you at the end of the month. If you didnt use the phone there was no charge.
Back then a stamp was about 27p? and the bill would be for 5p or less.
Eventually they stopped sending the bills, but even though the phone has not
been used for a good 6 years it was still active last time i checked it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I have just been through this exact same thing with Three. I was a network tester before they launched so my account was open since 2003, and because I was never a regular 'customer' they were perplexed when I finally got through to them, saying the account was open but didn't have any of the kind of information in it they'd expect to see. They had my date of birth as over 100 years ago!
My Noddle report looked exactly the same as the image above, with the account duly updating with a nil balance every month.
It didn't help that Three's customer services are based abroad and when I tried to call the operator invariably didn't understand the issue. Three have a couple of annoying policies, firstly when they transfer a call the agent explains your problem, but inevitably gets it all wrong and you have to spend time explaining it over again. Secondly, a callback was promised, which I missed, but when I tried to ring back I got a message stating that Three had tried to call me, and that there was no need for me to call them, they would call me back. The call would then terminate automatically. This is singularly the most ridiculous customer service policy I have ever heard of, Three weren't calling me back and I was now effectively barred from calling them as I'd just hear that message.
Eventually, after a web chat with an agent in the UK, and several emails Three reckon they've closed the account.
I wait in hope...
I wasn't ever able to challenge it through noddle because Three couldn't give me a date of closure, which Noddle required.0
