    @googler - For what it's worth, dont get too comfy there ..


    If you are running windows XP i could hack you in a fraction of a second, empty your bank, view you on your webcam and generally cause you unpleasentness, using one of the many vulnerabilities that have been discovered AFTER microsoft have stopped releasing security updates.


    As could anyone with a copy of kali linux and a bit of googling.

    These holes will NEVER be patched
    Best to ditch the XP ;)

    Thanks. Would I be able to upgrade this? I understand you can't with some Motherboards. Also, are there any disadvantages to a lap-top compared to desk-top? Thanks.

    Laptop generally not upgardable apart from RAM & HDD.

    Disadvantage of laptop harder/ more expensive to repair & can't be upgrade.

    I would suggest just getting yourself a Chromebook.

    Much better hardware than most Windows and Linux PC's you're going to find at that price. Plus the OS is pretty secure and easy to use.
