Videos? No thanks

I was interested to see Martin's thoughts about the US election, but instead of writing them down he has made a video. I have neither the patience nor the bandwidth for this, so will have to miss out.

Please, please, provide information in the form of text rather than video. It is NOT clever to ape the way teenagers use social media: this is not that kind of site.

That's not typically the way we use social media. We have about as much patience for such things as you!

Text is far easier to skim.

I'm sure some people might like the videos.
And it may well be quicker for Martin to do a video than type it out, get it proof-read, etc.

But there must be someone who can watch the video and transcribe it, mustn't there?

Thanks for the feedback guys. We're always looking for ways we can improve our messaging for our users and we are looking at producing more video for our social channels as we see this is consumed by larger audiences. However, we are also aware that video isn't the preferred medium for a large section of our users too. In this instance Martin made the video as a quick response to the US election results and wanted to get his messaging out as fast as possible. We think it's a good idea to have transcription available with our videos however due to the fast turnaround expected on video we can't always provide this. We will however gladly consider your feedback for future reference. Thanks all.

There's no reason why the video can't be added straight away and the transcription added later. Even if added the next day it would still be of interest.
