Rated best by all reviews. Paid for, yes, but much more secure than any free product. If you are considering a free product, just use Windows defender, every bit as good as any free AV.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Malwarebytes Anti-malware - This is free and reguler updated. Its only about £20 a year for the full version which does automatic updates0

Ask ten 'experts' and get ten different answers!!
I use Zone Alarm Extreme Security -paid for (usually manage to get at £6 per PC year) and that includes virus checker, firewall, anti spam and anti keyloggers and more plus no adverts.
Downside considered by some is it is resource grabbing an apparently comprises modules from different manufacturers but is seamless in operation.
Never failed me so far!
Sophos is also well regarded in the security world0
