Parking in Bath for Xmas Market

Hi there.
I am looking to go to Bath for the Xmas Market.
Can anyone recommend where to park. I'm coming from the south (Frome area).
The Southgate Long Stay Car Park seems reasonable, but with the Post Code BA1 1AR on Google Maps, I can't find the entrance.
There is also a car park looking at Google Maps in Earth View which I think is called Avon Car Park opposite the Mission Theatre. is that a good place to park - seems reasonably large?
Which ones are good and fairly large so I have a chance at getting a space and not too long a walk (we have a toddler) going to the Bath market please?
Thanks.

Odd Down park and ride. Drop off point is near Southgate car park.0

My advice would be to take the train rather than drive, it is so so busy you will be lucky to park anywhere. If you are in Frome isn't there a train direct from there to Bath? It will be much more relaxing the car parks are hideous when the market is on.0

I've been to the market a few times but don't know the car parks or the area well as I've stayed in a hotel. If you are going at the weekend I wouldn't contemplate driving, or taking a toddler to be honest as the crowds are intense in places. So I would suggest the train as it's a short walk from the station. During the week it's a much more pleasant experience.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Another vote here for letting the train take the strain! Parking in Bath, particularly in the run up to Christmas can be horrendous.
The station (as you may know) is right in the centre of everything and so convenient.
My second option would be to opt for the out of town Park & Ride mentioned above and skip queueing to get in and out of the central car parks altogether.0 -
we visited last yr on a Friday and headed for a P + R but couldn't find it. Ended up parked in city centre. We visited cheddar gorge on the Sat and late afternoon used a P +R for a city visit.
Tbh it was much easier quicker and a similar cost to use the city car park.
Unfortunately idont recall the name of the car park, not the park and.ride we couldn't find. Or the park and ride we did use on the Sat.
Sorry that's not much help is it really??0 -
Just had a Google. Not sure which park and ride we aimed for Fri, but OH says we found it and it was full. The park and ride we used on the Sat was Odd down.
The car park we used was I think Southgate.0 -
Search google maps for SouthGate Car Park Bath and it shows up. Irritatingly, the street view picture you see on the search results has the entrance hidden behind that blue bus.
What you can't tell from the map is that at the roads round about are a fairly confusing one way system, and jam packed at the weekends, especially during the Christmas market. And at the weekend when the Christmas market is on, there's a good chance the car park will be full!
I'm another one to suggest the train, it's literally a 4 minute walk from the train station to the Christmas market.Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Yes I agree the station is very close. We discovered it on our wanderings.
Train wasn't an option for us as we was visiting Bath, Cheddar and Swindon and staying in a Travelodge in Devizes (as the Bath one was £££)0
