MBNA Direct Debit change consequences

I wondered if you have had any other people contacting you about the MBNA's shift of Direct Debit dates?
I had set up two direct debits on my Lloyds Account to trigger the payment of interest on £5000 and avoid the £5 monthly charge, MBNA being a Direct Debit. However the MBNA have pulled a fast one moving my agreed direct debit date by 7 days so the October Direct Debit was not called for = result no £17.60 interest and a £5 charge. I have complained to the MBNA, I am on holiday and asked for a reply on their secure message system and the MBNA say they will get back to me with 56 days! yes fifty six days, saying the FCA requirement is to only acknowledge my complaint within 3 working days.
Are there others like me? Can you please offer any advice?
Thanks, Jackie

I got an email from them and it was written on my statement and online login account. Think they made it clear enough.0

They'll always tell you when they're taking the DD on your statement.
Shouldn't be any reason for surprise as long as you're reading what they send you,0 -
They've mentioned it on statements and when you log on it's mentioned on a box on the right hand side, stating that they've changed how long you've got to pay and how you now have an extra 7 days.0

Talking of not reading things - did you read this?

I really can't see how this can be viewed as MBNA's fault. They have charged you correctly following a favourable change in their t&cs (giving you a longer interest free period). I very rarely use my MBNA card and remember reading about this change when they notified me possibly by post and by email. If I was using the MBNA DD to qualify for an interest payment I'd have been straight on it.
I think you just have to accept the interest is 'unearned' for October and get yourself a couple of Tesco saving accounts for some DDs.0 -
They sent both a letter and email out two months ago and its mentioned on statements that this has changed0

I feel they didn't "pull a fast one". They just decided to give people more time to pay following statement generation. Most of my CCs give me 3 or 4 weeks to pay. MBNA was always a bit tight, so this change just brings them into line with other CCs. It gives you more time to check the statement and arrange funds to pay.
The "knock-on" effects are really a matter for you. MBNA cannot be responsible for your losing the Lloyds deal.0 -

Yes, but MBNA would, or should, have been well aware of this possibility. They could have mentioned it alongside all the stuff they sent out about the new arrangement.0 -

You can't be serious?!
What would they say? 'Don't forget that if you have 2 DDs set up on your Club Lloyd's account you may lose your interest if you don't have another DD set up AND don't forget your BOS Vantage accounts AND the same with your Co-Op account AND you won't get your switching bonus to M&S bank if you haven't got another two DDs set up AND AND AND ad infinitum'0
