Picture hanging frames?

I got a bunch of frames from Ikea, but the back on them is really deep compared to the tiny hanging hook. I am wanting them to sit nice and flush on the wall...what sort of fixing would be suitable?

Have you considered sticking them in place with command strips?

Plug and screw? Screw extending to appropriate length0

Put a couple of d-rings on the frame its self and attach some string.

You could buy a small picture hanging kit from EBay (costs about £3). If you are attaching string to a frame it needs to be about a third of the way down.0

I think I have the smaller size of those frames. I hung them by using very small nails (about 1cm long with a small head, I was calling them tacks but I'm not sure that's correct). I used a spirit level to draw a line then hammered in the nails so they would sit just inside the corners of the frame. The frames are light but sturdy so I've had no problems hanging them from the frame itself and they're always straight!0

OP, what type of walls do you have?I think I have the smaller size of those frames. That is what I do for light weight canvas prints etc with a frame similar to the OP when hanging on plasterboard walls.
I tap the pins or thin nails gently into the plasterboard at a downwards angle.
If the walls are traditional brick or block with plaster, or the frames are heavy, then drill holes and use a suitable screw and rawlplug.0 -

Or £1 in Poundland and Poundstretcher etc.0 -
I second the command strips suggestion. They are great.0

We use Command strips - saves making holes in the walls and easy to remove if you want to take down the picture.
Do make sure if you do remove the frame from the wall and have used these though you are careful - when we move the removal men just yanked one of our pictures off the wall taking frame, command strips and a big chunk of paint off too.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
