Balance transfer not showing on barclaycard!

Hi, around 2 weeks ago i transferred 2 balances from a virgin money card and barclays visa debit onto a hsbc card. Transfer s were done over the phone and i queried at the time if barclays debit transfer would be ok. Was assured it would be fine and was told all processed ok. Now to the problem - upon checking the accounts the transfers are showing as processed on hsbc balance and virgin card but not barclays? If there was a problem with the barclays visa debit transfer, would hsbc still show a balance as if they had transferred money to them? Im 100% sure i gave the correct details, im just at a loss as to what's going on?

You attempted a BT from a debit card? That doesn't seem like it would be possible, or successful.

Or do you mean a money transfer into a current account?

No, sorry just read my post back and realised thats how it sounds - i phoned hsbc to ask them to balance transfer balance of barclays visa debit onto hsbc credit, so basiclly yes a money transfer. Its showing as completed on hsbc side but money hasnt reached barclays.

That will probably be the problem then. You needed to do a money transfer. I imagine the money is in a suspense account at Barclays until they figure out what to do with it.

What have HSBC said?

What i dont understand is, why the person i spoke to on the phone did the transfer in the first place when i specifically said it would be to a visa debit? And i queried whether it would be possible and she said yes? Surely she should of said i would have to do a money transfer?
