ok , they went for a default very close to 6 yrs (you arnt in scotland are you?)

this happens if you do not update your details with them

the actual court date (default) was in september , then you had 28 days to pay , as you hav,nt they have applied a CCJ

if you pay them , it will be marked as satisfied , but still show , or £255 to argue why you do not owe it ,, if you do , you do so a waste of £255 for a setaside.

Unfortunately, prior behaviour regarding debt is a good indicator of future behaviour with debts. This is why the credit reference agencies exist. As a mortgage provider, I would want to know that you have failed to pay a debt previously.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.
  • Is it worth me contacting Lowell for a copy of my credit agreement as the account was opened 17 years ago and I do not believe I signed anything?

Unless you can come up with a good defence you are better paying up ASAP.

A set aside isn't cheap and there is no guarantee it would succeed. You would have to convince a judge that you have a good chance of winning at a hearing.

If you don't pay your credit will be trashed for 6 years and you may appear on Can't pay we will take it away.

Some lenders will consider you if it is satisfied however you may have to wait a couple of years to show better credit management and you are going to pay eye watering interest rates.

You could do a CCA request, and if they could not comply, you may get a set aside on that basis.
