    So far, no-one has mentioned a traditional book of Nursery Rhymes and another of Fairy Stories. These are what were dipped into the most from mine being babies right up until the first couple of years at school because they did a project about fairy stories.

    Once a bit older Aesops Fables, great for teaching morals. Fairy Tales from Brothers Grimm.

    The Jolly Postman books by Alan ahlberg are simply wonderful and, unlike many Childrens' books, a joy to read for an adult.

    Definitely 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. I loved reading that aloud:D. The children loved it too........I hope;). They certainly heard it often enough.:rotfl:
