Debt Recovery Plus and change of address

Hello

I have recently received my first letter from Debt Recovery Plus. I have read the newbies guide and I will ignore it.
By the end of December I am planning to move abroad for around 4 months. I will inform DVLA about this however, do I have to inform Debt Recovery Plus as well?
I don't want to miss actual court letters but at the same time I don't want to communicate with this Debt company. On their letter it doesn't say anything about informing when changing address.
I guess if it gets to a court stage, they will contact DVLA again for my address?
Also, on average for long am I to expect threatening letters from Debt Recovery Plus before court action?
My last question , the ticket I received was on a private land (office car park). When it gets to the court stage, does this mean that Capital2Coast will have to contact the property landlord about this first? Or the landlord doesn't have to know that Capital2Coast is taking me to court?

Kind regards

Paul

DRP cannot issue court proceedings against you , so IGNORE them

C2C can issue the proceedings , or a solicitor acting on their behalf , so if any address changes are to be notified, tell the PPC , in writing and keep a copy of the free cert of posting

nobody will contact the DVLA again

6 years is the length of time the PPC have to issue a court case, so expect this saga to continue until it is statute barred

it is unlikely that they will tell any landlord or landowner about any court case

    Interesting scenario for you.

DRP are simply timewasters and you can ignore them. They cannot take you to court PERIOD.

For them to have contacted you means the PPC has already obtained your reg details from the DVLA.
They can only get the info once from the DVLA

A few days before you move abroad contact Capital2Coast and give them your new address abroad. No need to say for how long.

You must request a confirmation from them that their records have been changed to your new address

The reason is that if you are away and they send court papers, you won't know and there will be a default which could mean a CCJ

Copy in a family member or friend on this.

    CONFIRMATION IS VITAL

What Capital2Coast cannot do is issue proceedings against you at a foreign address.

Suppose they are that stupid ..... a simple letter to the court (if it is not picked up) with a copy of your letter/email

    Thanks a lot.
They are also asking for an additional £60 (£160 total). Should I complain to SRA right now? Or should I wait until I receive more letters from DRP?
    Also
What Capital2Coast cannot do is issue proceedings against you at a foreign address.
So does this mean that until I am back in the UK they literally cannot do anything?

you are not understanding this, DRP are simpleton debt collectors which you can ignore without any problem.

This is NOT for the SRA, the SRA is a body for solicitors and who look into rogue solicitors

The £60 is the DRP add on for their costs so forget that. Unless you pay, they don't earn anything and will have to pass it back to
Capital2Coast. In general it's called scamming

You might get many letters from DRP, so if you are short of loo paper.... they can be put to good use .... cat litter trays are suitable.

Right now you have been contacted as the registered keeper of the car .... NOT THE DRIVER.

IT'S A NO GO TO TELL SCAMMERS WHO THE DRIVER IS/WAS

Relax and play silly games with them

Given that you will tell the PPC of your overseas address (not DRP) there is nothing the PPC can do. They only get one stab at this

Got 1st Debt Recovery Plus letter 15/11/16 and another on 30/11/16 however i never got any other letters nor a ticket on the car for an alleged parking offence dated 08/09/16. not even a single letter or ticket from the creditor National Parking Enforcement Ltd. Surely this breaks all kind of rules?

NPE don't seem to care much for rules:

Start you own thread if you get a court claim but other than that, ignore DRP/Zenith letters:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035663

And send a complaint to Trading Standards (Norwich I assume) as they have a file about NPE I think - also complain to your own MP and to Marcus Jones of the DCLG:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/71718094#Comment_71718094

Soooo, tell the DCLG in writing (with copies of the threatening letters) about your issue and the fact this is a company that is under the IPC but that their 'appeals system' the IAS (run by the same people who run Gladstones Solicitors who act for parking firms to sue people) is considered by the public to be such an allegedly-biased 'kangaroo court' that no-one with any sense, tries any more because parking firms always win, putting consumers on the back foot even prior to any court claim.

Make it really clear that self-regulation of this industry DOES NOT WORK. And that the CAB have no idea about the issue.

    Hello

I am about to send Capital2Coast an email regarding change of my address.
Is doing it by email safe? Can they later use my email to send court information etc. ?

As I said earlier , I am on the stage of receiving letters from DRP. Can I still submit POPLA appeal? The problem is that at that time, the parking sign with all the information was very unclear and they changed it few months after. I don't have any photos of the old sign so thats a minus for me when it comes to evidence. However, the reason I received the notice was "PERMIT INVALID FOR THIS BAY". Around my office each company has a fixed amount of bays assigned. These bays are mark with a company logo near the curb. When you park the car, the logo is approximately below the cooling fan.

By looking at the photo evidence of my car which I received with NTK I could probably argue that based on the photo evidence, it's not visible that I had parked in the wrong bay because the parking guy focused on taking the photo of my car so that the resigration is visible, not the fact that I had parked in the wrong bay. Only a photo of whats underneath the car would have shown if I had parked in the wrong bay.

    many thanks

Do it by post. Get a free proof of postage from the Post Office, copying in a friend / family member at another address. (i.e. Print and sign the letter, then photocopy it, then pop it in a separate envelope addressed to whoever, and post it at the same time in the same place, with proof of postage).

Once you've sent the letter off, feel free to ALSO email them, pointing out that this is a second notification to follow up the written notification which you have posted today. Grab a screendump of the email too. In both cases, insist they reply with written confirmation they've updated their records.
