Sun/Mail holidays to France

Hi
Looking for some recommendations. We've done the cheap Sun/Mail breaks to Cornwall for the last few years and are thinking of trying France next May with them.
We'll have a 10 month old baby and don't mind a bit of a drive (maybe up to 3hrs), and would like to be near(ideally walking distance)to the beach/restaurants.
Any one reccomend any of the Mail/Sun campsites?
TIA

Which ferry crossing will you be using?0

No preference really. Willing to do a longer one than Dover-Calais if needed.0

One of the nicer parts of France with the sun holidays the chateau des ormes in epiniac , Brittany, but it's not in walking distance of a beach.but it's a five star site with restaurants and lakes0

If you want better weather than Cornwall, there's a rule of thumb that it's better south of a line at about Bordeaux.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I disagree. The Vendee is the warmest part of France apart from the Med and is a good way further north than Bordeaux.

Ferries don't get to those part of France though do they? IS the st Malo the nearest( though probably dearest) ?0

We like Brittany and The Vendee (although Vendee was too hot in the school summer holidays for our pasty, gingery family!) but probably a bit of a longer drive than 3 hours. We've broken our journey at campsites nearer the channel ports before, and liked Camping Le Vallee at Houlgate and Cote de Nacre at St Aubin - lots of nice beaches and traditional Normandy architecture in the area. Food and drink is good too

This is the link to the sun holidays sites

You can see chateau des Ormes and the other possible choices none right on the coast
I've been to Brittany a lot it's always been very warm I've been in July . These holidays are cheaper because they are off peak?
Budget airlines serve Dinard.
You could also look for municipal campsites near a beach as an alternative they may have static caravans to rent
Haven't got a link to the mail ones0 -
We use https://www.breakfreeholidays.co.uk for caravan breaks as they have more flexibility than the Sun breaks, but are still usually cheaper than the operators own websites.0
