Bushinternet.com

Apologies if this is on the wrong forum.

Many years ago when the internet was very new to all of us I bought a portable Bush television that allowed you to access the internet from the TV.

I ran my account for a number of years. I last used their email system from my computer a few years ago and have tried to get into my email account recently with no success.

I am sure I have the correct original account/details but they don't work. I have tried resetting my password but I am told I need to contact the administrator. When I use their help email address helpdesk@bushinternet.com it comes back as undeliverable.

There is a service status update on their home page stating that things are changing in November and December but it does not say which year.

There is an option to telephone them or write to them but as I am a "thrifty Scottish person" I don't want to pay out for an expensive telephone call and writing will take too long to get a response if at all.

Does anyone know if Bush Internet are still in operation and how I can access my account?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi. I seem to remember having one of these boxes that used my TV. It was very "cutting edge" at the time. I think I paid £80 for it. That would have been around 1998.

Mines was called BushID I think. I think the technology was something to do with Virgin? I am sure when I logged on, the TV screen would say BushID powered by Virgin.

Bush, back then was part of ALBA plc. They are now just a brand name belonging to Sainsburys (Argos).

I guess maybe send an email to Virgin and see what they say. Not sure if that is helpful, but good luck! :)

Yes the service was a joint venture, something like 80% Alba and 20% Virgin.

None of the links on the left side of the page on bushinternet page lead nowhere, not sure if thats an indication of anything.

Thanks for your help. I still have the TV and the Set Top Box. I'll have to fish it out and see if it still works. I'll try contacting Virgin. The reason I want to use their email again(if it still exists) is because of the email address at the time. It seems to be very popular with other email providers and not available to use again.

Apologies I couldn't offer any advice about trying to login.

I've sent emails to my bushinternet email address and they are also bouncing back with a "permanent error" response so I guess Bush Internet itself is not working or no longer exists. Although the website is still available.
