Have you looked at how long it's going to take to get to the town from the airport first?0

http://www.browsingitaly.com is a good site for info.
If going to Verona the opera is a must. We were camping by the lakes and got a ticket which included travel from our area and a ticket to sit on the stone steps. Take a cushion and the bus driver told us which door to wait by and how to get to the best seats. We ended up next to the VIP seats and had a great evening.0 -
Don't think the opera will be going in November, it is after all an open arena, but I agree go if you can.
Neighbours went earlier in the year. Take your own cushions is their advice as those you can hire are a bit thin.0 -

Just a note to let you know that many hotels, restaurants etc around Lake Garda close from the end of October to March. It's a very quiet time around the lake, with winter bus and ferry schedules in operation. Were you aware of this and did you have any location on the Lake in mind? From Verona I'd recommend the Eastern coast/South Eastern corner, but you'll need to check on buses from Verona Airport or from the city itself as these run less frequently over the winter.0

We went to Verona for a week in early October (purpose of the trip was to visit some wedding venues at Lake Garda but we stayed in Verona itself). We rented an appartment on airbnb which was lovely and very reasonable, near the football stadium. I doubt the opera will be on at this time of year, we went to see initmissimi on ice at the arena and it was freezing by the end so I guess that might have been the last open air event of the year.
It has a really nice, compact historical centre where the arena, Juliet's balcony etc are. There are many places within a short train journey worth visiting : Padova, Vicenza, Mantua, the lake is very easily reachable by bus or train and also Venice is only about an hour 20 minutes too0 -
Thank you so much. Which part of the lake is most picturesque?windyaneckin wrote: »We went to Verona for a week in early October (purpose of the trip was to visit some wedding venues at Lake Garda but we stayed in Verona itself).
