Warning: Homeguard Alarms will use your debit card to steal money

My mother in law bought an alarm call device from a company in Bournemouth called donotcalluk a year or so back. Since then the same people based in same office have used her debit card without permission under the name Homeguard Alarms U.K. sent her unsolicited packages of CO2 and smoke alarms and other stuff. So far she's been stung for close on £400. We sent one package back, it was signed for and whenever we call "the refund cheques in the post". It isn't of course. Anyway this is to warn people, especially if they have elderly relatives, to be very careful when buying by card over the phone. This company clearly kept a note of her 3 digit security number and took it upon themselves to use it to steal from her (in return for a pile of tat they send). We've now had her card changed. The websites to look out for are Homeguardalarmsuk.co.uk and donotcallservice.uk both in Bournemouth. We've been advised the law requires us to prove she DIDN'T order the goods which is close to impossible! Be warned

Homeguard Alarms homepage at the beginning gives the phone number 08001 303 342
and at the end 0800 303 342. So a bit sloppy to start with. These carbon monoxide detectors are available at supermarkets for around £20 so no need to pay over the top and have your card compromised. You should get in touch with your MiLs card issuer and advise them of any chicanery.0 -

I'm not sure this is correct. I would think it is they who have to prove she did order the goods.0 -

" Do not call uk Limited’s boss is Luke Dean Ashbee, 31, who is known to the local council as the former premises licence holder of the Alika Nightclub, a troublespot that was the source of frequent problems for neighbours, the council and the police. He recruited students as his sales force, so it is quite possible David was targeted by one in Lancaster.
Ashbee did not respond to repeated invitations to explain the extra charges imposed on David and other customers – above the already exorbitant price of the blocking device. His company is based in Bournemouth. For some reason, this area is a hotbed for call blocker rip-off firms, many of which do not even go through the motions of using salesmen on the street.
