I thought anecdotal meant "based on personal experience" whereas hearsay is gossip possibly based on someone else's, so I can't verify it?
I'm willing to be corrected, as I only have O level English from a long time ago...
anecdotal
adjective
(of an account) not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research.
I've only got an O level too.0 -
You never stop learning..
So if I tell you about my actual experience, if you repeat it to someone else it becomes an anecdote??I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Why not ask the Manchester branch if they will deliver?
Once you have the car, you could take it to any Nissan dealer for servicing and warranty work.
As it happens, I bought from Nissan Westway and had it serviced from glyn hopkins Nissan with no problems.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I contacted Manchester but they said it was over £200 to deliver and same to return if I rejected it. I mentioned £95 as on website but wouldn't budge. It's all a bit of a game really.0

I really don't like these -- are they the three-cylinder turbo jobbies? Rather have a straight 4-cyl.Je suis sabot...0

So we're now down to £300 saving and £400 wasted if you reject the car - which if for good rather than frivolous reason, I would suggest dealer should swallow the £400 themselves. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

Not quite. If you tell me about your personal experience, it's an anecdote. If I tell my friend what you say, it's hearsay (the friend of a friend of a man in the pub thing).
If you tell me your Lamborghini was a pig to start, and I tell people that all Lamborghinis are poor starters, that's anecdotal evidence and not reliable. If JD Power state that owners of Lamborghinis are 20% more likely to report starting problems than the average, that's evidence based on thousands of data points, and therefore more likely to be true.
We get a lot of anecdotal stuff on this forum: my X was unreliable, therefore all X are unreliable and their owners need their heads examining. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
