I've scratched my brain but can't recall if Co-op-gate was DEAL or not. I have commented on the thread and asked the OP to come over here with his set aside query though.

    Does this help?

Parking Prankster states one claimant is CEL and the other is DEAL.

This appears to be the first mention of the Co-op 50 back in January 2015. What's interesting is that DEAL filed dormant accounts for the period to 31st January 2015.

not only is a CCJ not being pursued , but the OP received a letter from deal

    Quote :
I had a "notice of discontinuance" sent to me in October 2015 from debt enforcement and action ltd

so how can a dormant company be sending out discontiance papers ?

We don't know. I asked a contact only recently.

Best guess is an out of court settlement was reached between the Co-op and CEL, to end it. But that's a guess.

yes an out of court settlement would have been handy for the coop and their staff , but of no help to the hundreds of coop customers

shop little , shop often ,,, but not at the coop , coz they have a yellow streak and pay off black mailers

however WHY would DEAL in the OPs words " "notice of discontinuance" sent to me in October 2015 from debt enforcement and action ltd"

unless the coop paid off ALL the charges to a dormant company?

your comment: "Best guess is an out of court settlement was reached between the Co-op and CEL, to end it. But that's a guess"

the case was ADJURNED by the judge , ie , it had started and was a test case , can parties pull out when the case has started , and deemed as a test case?

I also presume the Coop reached a deal with...deal.

Sad, but I guess no more than expected.
