I got a letter from Aqua today accepted 44%apr-6 months 0% -limit not mentioned in written agreement.

Signed and returned anyway, why no limit mentioned in a written contract? That's a first!

Can I just ask, if you are in a DMP, why you are looking to extend the number of credit facilities you have? I didn't think you could have credit cards in a DMP, but admit I know very little about them.

Personal (painful) experience showed that to be a very slippery slope.

What you ask and advise is correct.

This was my idea to re build my creating rating prior to completing dmp late 2019.

I'ts worked well t.b.h., it was at least 2 yrs before cap 1 accepted me since 2012 with a 200 limit card.

What's happened since is cap 1 200 increased to 450
My cashplus -250 no increase
those have been in past 2 years.

Luma 1000 limit
Tesco foundation 250 increased to 600 past few days.
Those cards were this year.

1 more to mention ive today signed Aqua card after recently been accepted online.
44%apr 6 months 0% purchases -limit to be advised on receipt of card.

And i'm 2 years into 4 years car finance

Please do not judge me, i'm much more sensible since 2012 only what I haven't done is increase my dmp payments -thouse have stayed as 1st agreed <200 per month.

I haven't mentioned health though I have posted on other mse threads about my illness.

the cards are all setup via DD for at least minimum payments, and I've decided to clear them over next few months with the advice of other mser's


1 or 2 cards are +40 apr -enough of a 'warning' to avoid using these cards much if at all.

Though there has been a suggestion to maybe us Aqua for fuel/groceries next few months, freeing up additional funds to make larger payments to cap 1 and Luma etc to begin clearing all cards over next 3-6 months.

The essential difference is no missed payments since 2012 be it dmp, bills, mortgage/cards.

Did you receive a written contract agreement in the post?

Only part missing for me this morning was any mention of a limit, this part surprises me as I thought that would be confirmed before anyone is asked to sign and return the written agreement,

Everything else was as online app mentioned, i.e. 40% apr 6 months 0% etc.

Just a decline letter for me, maybe I just don't meet their criteria. I have a barclaycard initial so I will use that for a year before applying for main stream cards. Only wanted Aqua for building.

Nearly fell off my chair last night. A CCA letter was on the top of my post (could tell through the envelope window).

Followed by a very small (what looked like single page letter) from NewDay Ltd.

Was just getting ready to kick off, assuming they'd sent me a CCA and then the single page decline by post again.......

The CCA included a card with £900 credit limit, and I also had a pin in the other letter! Activated with no problems too.

I think my last complaint has triggered them into behaving - as I find it unbelievable that they can't accept me 2 months ago with about 100 searches in the previous year.... 2 months later they accept me when searches has stayed consistent... and so far above the minimum.

Pretty pleased, even though it's only 0.5% cashback, that's by far the best I can hope for until I'm 3 years discharged!!

Did Aqua advise your 900 limit before your card was issued?

Only cause I'm expecting a new card this or next week, though my limit hasn't yet been advised.

No, no prior notification of limit at all

CCA dropped though with welcome to aqua letter, a few leaflets and a CCA with card attached to the back. The CCA document had credit card number, start date and limit etc at the top right hand side.

The other letter just a PIN

I've never had a CCA from them before, but assumed it was just another step to their madness (so opened the PIN first to see if it was a decline) - if I'd have got a CCA letter (saying card will follow) and then a decline that would've caused me so much emotional trauma that at least 100 compo would be due!!!

Their whole system amazes me - this time is the first time I've clicked away from the quiz without doing it. Maybe, they actually see you as desperate if you waste 5 minutes of your life on the quiz, and decline based on that.....? Slightly unfair as most people applying to Aqua are desperate - for the right reasons (to build/rebuild credit etc)

Although it would seem unfair - that kind of policy would still count as a form of behavioural scoring!!!!
