Big thanks to 'ninanoonanarna' for posting the 'Win Your Dream Holiday up to £5000' with Ninja Kitchen UK.

I was selected as one of the 3 finalists yesterday - so all day and night I was vividly imagining my life's dream of finally visiting Hawaii! I thought my entry had a pretty good chance of winning so maybe got slightly carried away with the idea of my dream holiday.

The competition was supposed to go to public vote, and sadly - despite my entry getting the most Facebook 'likes' they decided a panelist of judges would make the final decision and selected another winner (

I appreciate the consolation prize of a Ninja Coffee Bar Machine - I will be donating this to my friend as I am currently caffeine free due to health issues.

I nearly won a car years ago - it went to a final tie breaker and I just couldn't come up with anything inventive so lost. I still recall my excitement and then disappointment so I understand how you feel. Well done with the runner up prize and better luck next time!

Thanks for your lovely messages. I don't know who won as Ninja wouldn't tell me. I have had a lot of messages from strangers telling me that they could not believe I didn't win and that they thought mine would win without a doubt for effort. It's nice to know this and a huge compliment.

I must admit I was very devastated. Friends and family were saying that I was being silly because it was just a competition and I just didn't win. Easy for them to say though - I can imagine if they got this close to a dream coming true, they would feel the same!

I like to see myself as a positive person but I have had a few large competition 'knocks' lately and this was the third straw that broke the camel's back for me. But..... I love comping (it keeps me sane!) and I will not let these bad experiences stop me from doing it.

I'm glad one of the other entries won their dream holiday though. In a way - by me not winning - somebody elses dream came true, so I have to be happy for that
