    Good afternoon all,
    Could I be added please?

This is my first time doing the challenge, usually I save up the lose change but always end up counting it out and putting it in the bank.
I am aiming for the 1p extra a day...tho thinking about it, it could get difficult when I to day 200...but will see how I go.
I believe the end amount will be £677.95 (??)so that will be my first challenge! Days 1,2 and 3 DONE. 6p saved lol

    Welcome honeybee
Our lovely Sue will be along to give you a number for your sig soon.

Read the first post and get potting.

I did the same challenge that you are doing last year but after a while I decided to round up the amount I potted each week to £20 as there are some big amounts at the end of the year.

I bought my sealed pot today :j:j

its one of those that you have to use a tin opener to get into. I have transferred all the money and added two £2 coins I had plus some pennies.

DS keeps telling me he will find a way into it :rotfl:

Sounds like the penny challenge, the other way you can do it, is to write 1p - £3.65 onto paper or posit notes and then just pick one out a day, and pot that amount, by the end of the year you will have £667.95 but you don't have the worry of having to find all the higher amounts in December, as they are random, or you could reverse it by paying in £3.65, £3.64, £3.63, £3.62, = £14.54 (up to today)...

Morning potters! Yesterday I potted £5 in £1 coin tin, £3+ in odd sods tin & a nice new fiver in the £5 envelope . That makes up a bit for not potting over Christmas fortnight!

My odd sods tin is full - it's a smallish tin but I'm still ridiculously happy lol. New tin in situ & now need to find somewhere to put the full tin where I won't forget in November! !!!

    Hi Westie983,
That sounds like a great idea!
I did start to wonder about sticking £3 odd in a day at the end of the year. I actually might start again and just not put in the last 4 days amounts. Thank you!!

    Morning Potterssssssssssssss

Well its a miserable day down here in the south, cloudy and rainy and just ugh so i'm staying in the warm and watching Disney videos :D

Re: the 1p a day challenge, you could do it so that you pay 1p day 1, £3.65 day 2, 2p day 3, £3.64 day 4 etc. This works out at £58.40 for the month of January, and each months savings would be roughly the same (give or take depending on number of days in the month). Anyone on quite a strict budget might like the security of knowing what they have to put aside each month :)

DH and I have decided that we are seriously going to put our backs into the Disney saving fund now and have devised a plan of drawing out our 'going out for lunch' money at the beginning of each month (which will now be brought down to £75) and that money is for our meals out or the odd 'cant be arrised to cook, lets get a pizza' nights. Once the money in the envelope is gone we cant have any more meals out till next payday  Any money left in said envelope a end of month (we're so optimistic :rotfl:) will go in the pot for Disney spending :D

We are also looking at the food budgeting as we seem to have fallen into a bit of a blase state of mind over the weekly food shop and its not good! Obv, our budget will always be a bit higher than others as DS's bread alone costs me £6 a week BUT if I stop being a lazy moo and actually start baking again, theres no reason why I cant make his cakes and biscuits rather than paying Mr T for them!

Now do I actually have any pennies for my pot today? . . . I do! a whole 50p in the pot this morning :D, need to sort out a coppers pot as I seem to be walking round with a large amount of coppers now since I decided not to pot them, so if I have a seperate tub and change them up every so often before putting in the big pot I get the best of both worlds :D
