Ok,
So I am looking to buy a gaming PC (2 actually for my teenage sons) I could use tv screens as monitors, but if they come with monitors, bonus, if not no worries.
I have researched until my eyes are hurting.
Here is what I know I need:
at least 8gb memory
1tb hard drive
Intel core i3
Acer possibly (only as I know that's expandable)
Any ideas pleeeeeeease?

Any ideas from the teenage sons? I guess their suggestions are way over budget. What budget?
"Acer" and "expandable" are contradictory. For half decent gaming rigs have a look at palicomp.co.uk cclonline.com to name just two.
An i3 is low range for gaming. Suggest i5. Hotukdeals is always worth a scan for bargains...e.g. (not necessarily recommended though)

Sons have no clue
Budget, again I have no idea how much these things are, but was hoping for no more than £800/900 for the pair.
Thank you I will have a look on there, but if anyone has any suggestions as to which ones to go for, please shout

Already got game console(s)?whattodo02 wrote: »Sons have no clue0 -
You don't need any of that.
My advice to you is to buy pre built first (so you know what you're dealing with and also have the safety net of warranty and support). Your second rig in the future could then be custom built.
Go for a CHILLBLAST Fusion D or a PALICOMP AMD Shockwave. Both are decent spec and a decent price for around £500.
Most importantly, both have decent tech support for new PC gamers like yourselves.0 -

You probably better buying 1 PC and another one playing console.
No point to get 2 PC, but both of them not fast enough...
Depends on what game they are playing, a mid range gaming PC would be looking at £600
You be looking something like intel i5 6xxx, 8GB RAM,GTX 960/ RX 480
Older gen i5 4xxx is ok if they are cheaper.0 -
Thanks, but they both want to play against each other, so we definitely need 2 PC's
does anyone think this one would be ok?

Not a gaming PC...0 -
My Son recently used some money he saved up and bought a gaming pc (No monitor yet - we are using a 32" Samsung TV)
I got lots of very useful advice on these forums and from friends and eventually bought one from ebuyer - I considered buying parts and making ourselves but looking at the pre-built prices we decided there was limited benefit to us.
I researched all over - scan.co.uk, aria.co.uk, zoostorm.com etc but for the specific graphics card we wanted, the ebuyer system was the best value for our budget.
here is a link to gaming pc's on their web site
http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Computer/cat/Gaming-PC?sort=price+ascending
Note - order was placed at 10.35pm Wednesday evening on ebuyer web site and delivered at 10.30am on Friday morning.
I think your research should include looking carefully at Video cards as that is a critical component of any gaming setup. Maybe start with looking at the game they want to play now and check the specs in order to play it smoothly.
With regards to being expandable, if you get it right you probably don't need to expand much, apart from maybe adding more RAM. Experienced gamers might upgrade their graphics card but i'm not expecting to do that. We opted for a pc with a better graphics card but 'only' 8Gb memory rather than the one with 16gb memory and a slightly lesser spec graphics card. My thinking is that its going to cost me £40 and 5 minutes of time to add extra memory but several hundred quid for a newer/better graphics card and the hassle of selling my old one to help pay for it!
Hope this helps.
