The OP has not had his policy cancelled, but has a "renewal refused"paddyandstumpy wrote: »You have no need to declare a cancelled or refused insurance based on falling outside of the acceptance criteria of an insurer. .......
.....Personally I'm not sure a Broker could especially help you, fundamentally insurers will see you as a very poor risk, with 3 accidental (ergo avoidable) claims.......
Most insurers do require declaration of any "refusal to renew" in their "catch all" question or assumption regarding cancelled policies.
And regarding your suggestion that brokers couldn't help here, this is one scenario where brokers can be at their most useful! (It's the off the peg online direct type of insurer that won't - presumably you work for one of those!)
Google homeowners insurance after multiple claims to find brokers who can help.0 -

Regarding the above, rubbish. Declined renewals are due to underwriting criteria no longer being met. One insurer doesn't care what another insurer has as their criteria and declines as a result. Common sense is applied here.
As previously mentioned if that was the case I'd have to declare Saga refusing me cover (there is no distinction between NB and renewal in this respect), as I'm under 50. Which I'm never going to do, and I'm comfortable I'm not withholding information from insurers.
And to answer your question. Yes.0 -

An insurer declining to quote is very different to an insurer refusing to renew due to claims history.
The OP has had a renewal refused. If they are asked, they have to say yes. If a prospective insurer chooses to ignore it, that is fine but doesn't mean it doesn't have to be declared.0 -

You are once again handing out dangerous advice.
Your "analogy" isn't one (as in the OPs case they have been insured and now have a refusal to renew, whereas you attempting to join the saga club under age is obviously incomparable)
If the OP is asked to disclose a refusal to renew then you are truly talking rubbish if you are advising him to lie and say he hasn't had one!0 -
OP, try Grove and Dean.
I know they can help you with the declined renewal, they have schemes with most of their panel to allow this (for certain scenarios, this being one).
Your sticking point will be the 4 claims.
They do have a Private Client section and mid/high net worth accounts, so they may be able to assist you reinsuring with Hiscox.
I'd expect any policy would have something like a £2500 excess (if not higher) and a steep premium in the 4 figures...
Good luck.0
