I would put a plant/shrub at the end of your porch and have done with it.

If she really is literally walking all over you, then you have legitimate cause for complaint. You should probably call the police on the non-emergency number, as that is assault.
  • So - in your case I'd just go back to trimming her ivy when it comes over from her side and accepting she will do the same. Make very sure you don't pull it over your side and trim exactly to the border and to the border only. If she makes any further complaints about how you trim it - point out how she trims yours calmly and then walk indoors.

Sometimes people have to trim neighbours plants. I found I had ivy coming in from a neighbours garden and there was a lot of it in my garden. Now I absolutely hate ivy but I just removed all that was in my garden and, when it regrew a bit, trimmed it carefully exactly back to the border (making very sure I didnt pull at it or do any that was on her land at all).

After a while, they removed their ivy anyway. I guess it was down to it didnt look the same very neatly trimmed as it had when it had been allowed to "go wild". End of problem. But it really doesnt take very long to keep ivy neatly trimmed and non-intruding once the job has been done initially.

I wouldnt make a big deal of it in your position. You have other things on your plate to deal with after all.
  • Thanks all.

I am just going to have to grit my teeth as usual and just smile sweetly and ignore her trying to get a rise out of me.

When I had ivy branches growing through my fence from my next door neighbour I used to paint the leaves with glyphosate gel.

They never knew why it died.

Yes, because criminal damage is the solution here. What a lovely neighbour you are.

Poncirus Trifoliata makes a very attractive hedge or bush - It has delicate small white flowers with a citrus scent. Doesn't grow too fast and is quite hardy.

It is often planted instead of using barbed wire in some areas

You never ever really know about your neighbour I suppose, I would hope my neighbours would chat to me rather than kills my plants!

My property is the one on the left. Those are her garage doors with her front door to the right.

    .
Is it just me? I can't see any garage doors? I can see it's a garage conversion.

I also can't see anything wrong with having the post box where it is.

If you don't want the postman reaching around, just ask him not to, or plant something there. It's no big deal.

Whats the set up for her door ? Anything to show who owns that ?

You're going to have to dig your deeds out to see what they say regarding that front boundary, i personally would say that isnt a party wall because the fence is set off from it rather than it forming part of the boundary.

It's so easy to dismiss your questions as petty, until you've lived next to someone like that though you have no idea what strain it can put you under. Simple things to others will have you wrapped up in knots for days questioning the intent behind it.

Its worth checking your deeds regardless as to if you react now, it wont be the last thing she does im sure !

    ETA,

I've had another look, the flashing and gutters appear to be hanging over 'her side' which would again suggest its yours and not party, the fence looks newer and is confusing things slightly as the actual pickets are in line with the wall. What is the lean to used for ? I dont think they would make something like a porch a party wall because you would not be able to remove without their permission which is odd.
