An archetypal example of an overt Scotticism is "Och aye the noo", which translates as "Oh yes, just now".

Twas indeed 'oot' but is no longer and I fear we need an arc. I hope you and yours are well on this fine soggy august weekend. There's a rather large golf tournament next door to work, so the traffic I have to say is appalling. Sun or no sun....just in case anyone was as confuzzled as I was...

I think its Scots - I use that and jiggered which I am tonight!
Hello dear hearts
Home with some rather sad looking 'we've got white rot on our butts' onions so an onion soup has just saved those :money: they were destined for the bin and a bit fiddlesome but food nevertheless.
Free veg at work today included thinned out beetroot, beetroot leaves (bonnie spinach in my view) and some rather sad speared tatties which we've been digging up and the students killed a few of them by spear (forking) so they've been carefully dissected and washed clean and sorted for the weekend.
No veg will die on my watch I promise.
I also have about 1kg of fallen green tomatoes - must find something to do with them - long story about leaving people in charge of tomatoes and secateurs.......won't happen again.
Not much else to report today full day working - and working at weekend for TOIL so all good - extra holidays.
HM lunch (fish and saved veg)
Also scored 5 eggs and 2 lemons from our p/g student who's away home for a couple weeks :T
Not much in reduced lands so we left the co-op with dug fud and that was it. We do have standards. :rotfl:
steps at 18.8k - will try and get that over 20k by bedtime even if all my fitbit friends hate me :A
Few things to sort for the weekend, but I'm working both days so more prep and a bit of chill than much.

Morning world
Am up breakfasted and ready to go and head off to work.
Made two pots of soup last night, one got containered (barley broth) and frozen will do the other later (beetroot greens, green onion and I'm not sure what else yet.).
Got to 20k steps so I'm happy with that - its the weekends I struggle with so lets see if I can up them this weekend.
Working extra but means I get to pootle about by myself and pretend its my very own garden, whilst I don't really fancy anything so large its nice to be alone to commune with it now and then. Thankfully I'm only in charge once a month - be chaos otherwise.
MR Me has requested chips for tonight so he's buying I'll need to watch the eats today - I'm determined to be fabulously fitting my trousers again soon which is very mse and it means no new trousers needed.
Might pop over and see Brother in new flat later - if so might mean a wee detour to the chinese supermarket - I do love a good rootle in there.
Must pick up free wood at mothers if Im' that end and see what I can do about increasing the stacks here before the winter.
Making plans for a trip to the land of the maple leaf again potentially so doing some sums on that.
Must do banks and cards but that might be later!
Have a good one and hope its MSE
Meal plan later I guess at least a ball park idea.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Ay up loverly,
was just amusing myself looking at runner bean recipes online, and came across THIS one, which I thought was very much your cuppa tea
You'd have the beans, courgettes and tatties in abundance, doubtless have some fish - smoked or no - that you got for a bargainacious price, squirrelled away in t'freezer and ........and I'm sure you could find a marigold flower to boot!

I have two hounds and a job which has no loo in any of the buildings so the nearest loo is about 350 steps each way to the manor hoose:rotfl: yes I counted, ladies of a certain age need access to these regularly.
Yesterday was a part work/part driving day so I only managed 10k, did promise to take the mutts out later on but slumped into the sofa instead. Its hard when I'm writing or working on project stuff - so I do get you - I struggled to get up to 5k on womble work days at my puter.
I hope the little darlings are well
Oh yummy on the treats - although I added the calories up on mine 300g chip shop chips 750 calories :eek::eek::eek::eek:20K steps Pips?!? - how do you do it??? - On a good day I manage 10K most days only about 8K

Our YS'd stocks will come in handy as it looks like the rain might never stop sometimes. :A
I did fall in love with Canada - although it was mid winter and bluebird days 8/11 we were there = we were very lucky.
Pondering a trip back to BC or alternatively Iceland (not for frozen food........:rotfl:)
I have decided I'm part canadian, part french, part irish, part scottish and a wee bit welsh too. All good cheese making countries.:T:T:T
Speaking of cheese - we've been lax in that department for a while - we've MJack, Mozzerella, Welsh Cheddar, Haulomi and Orkney Smoked with a wee frozen cam'brt in the freezer. How about you?Greying_Pilgrim wrote: »Ay up loverly,
