I think RT has nailed the answer to that one. You WOULD get a decent size print out of the digital download, but a lot comes down to how big you actually want to go, and the added cost of frames etc. If you're looking at A3 size anyway it'll probably cost you more for the download plus the print than just buying the print anyway. (And if the print turns up and the quality is rubbish, you can return it anyway!) I'd also say that's a suspiciously cheap price for a download that would give you that level of quality, as an aside.

Not cold here so much as wet. Very wet. In fact, very VERY wet. Urgh. I'll swap you for -3?

Meal plan sounds ace. Mine has already fallen apart as I forgot to make tonight's stew. Re-thinking happening...

hmmm - meal plan for us is the usual & not very exciting...

sun - roast chook & lotsa (roasted) veg
mon - fishcakes & lotsa spinach & poached egg
tues - pork & brussels & root mash & pots (lotsa veg again)
wed - chick & (lotsa) pack choi - maybe stirfried with a sauce
thurs - date night - eat out or bring it home
fri - fish & zoodles or boodles (veg noodles)
sat - bottom of the fridge omelette

we have a few back up 'meals' just in case we are feeling lazy - leftover chook & veg from yesterday or loaded nachos (as a last resort! - not very healthy but we do have all the ingredients)

Thanks chaps. Here is the image the one I saw was at least 1m square and for a big wall at home that would be ace. (EH the wall where the pot stand is just now beside the stove) so a big print would be grand. RT I may take you up on some more advice once I get sorted. Second thing to do would be take a high res scan of the a3 on the works scanner (they said I could :)) and then blow up a print from that? Ponder ponder.

Loaded nachos sound great but as DS has them almost every day I'll pass. Waves to all.

Old hound went to work today - free doggy care. Scored a boot load of wood from work again. Twice this week so far - yay and its only monday. HG is still off so her-in-charge has asked if I'll stay as acting for the forseeable, of course how could I say no when my belly is full of free wood.

Our 'roast dinner pie' has gone a bit off piste and now is roast dinner 'shepherds' pie. Although its chicken so its 'Chicken chasers pie'

Ha ha - roasted chook won out - it was easiet...

OH did say - if we are hungry later we can always do nachos!

Sounds a bit hobbitish to me - 2nd dinner is akin to 2nd breakfast!

eta - Him who knows about this stuff suggests that if you are blowing it up that big & loosing a bit of the resolution, then you may want to have it done on a canvas board - the texture will detract from the lost resolution... (he has more to say but I'm not fast enough to type it!)

  • Oh thanks RT I will investigate options. I loved the print in the shop but I aint paying nearly 500 quid for drawings of my dinners.

    :D

    Enjoy your tea!

How about the poster in puzzle format?

    Twice the size of A3...

Twice the fun - put the puzzle together, laminate & then frame...

  • Jigsaw! That idea's got to be a winner RT! :T:rotfl:

The canvas board print is an idea, BUT I'd be wary of how greasy it will get with the general cooking etc on that wall? The advantage of something behind glass is that it's easy to clean. It's a lovely print - not surprised you fell for it!

  • Love the veggie poster!
Very wet and soggy here, but quite warm - have to get all dolled up in waterproofs from head to foot and then I'm much too hot!
Freegle has helped me offload lots of bits and pieces that I just didn't know what to do with and has provided a nice swing set and a tatty wooden playhouse which we are hoping to renovate for the girls for Xmas. On the lookout for free useful bits of wood now. (Is that mean - scavenging free pressies? But we will have to put in the work so I think that's OK!)
