eBay non payer - vent

Why bid on something when you have no intention whatsoever of paying for it
I was selling a few bits for a clear out and noticed the bidding was higher than I expected on one of the things . I had a look at the feedback of the bidder and on the first page there was a comment that they had not paid up for an item they had won , sure enough they won the auction and of course no payment and no answer to an email. I looked further back in their feedback and there were literally dozens of comments about them winning auctions but not paying - in fact one poor seller had them bid on the item when it was relisted and then not pay up again.
How can they not get banned after all that ? I've had to wait 2 days to register a dispute and then I'm going to have to relist the item - it's just so annoying.

You could have set up your buyer requirements to exclude people with a certain amount of non paying bidder strikes.

File a non-paying bidder. If sellers did this then these people will be banned.

This. If sellers have left feedback it means they haven't filed a NPB correctly.

Enough strikes and a buyer will be unable to bid.

Exactly. The feedback shows that the previous sellers have done you no favours by not bothering with the NPB process and just leaving them 'positive' feedback instead.

Why not make a second chance offer to the next bidder? Saves having to re-list.

I have filed a non paying bidder with eBay and I now know how to set my sales to exclude bidders with a non payment history. I suppose I've been lucky in that in all the time I've used it this is the first time it has happened .

You still need to deal with the first sale unless you have more than one of them to sell.
